Girls Empowerment Network Malawi exists to amplify the voices of adolescent girls and young girls to reach decision making tables. We have been involved in building and creating a grassroot network of girls and young women advocates. We want to give the adolescent girls a voice and a platform where their thoughts and voices are heard. We believe that girls should be properly armed to fight the injustice and inequalities they face in order to achieve positive social transformation and be the change they want to be.
GENET empowers adolescent girls with information on justice systems and strengthen the capacity and increase coordination of community justice systems’ operations (and so to promote inclusiveness of marginalized groups such as girls and women in the justice system). This will ensure that girl survivors have accessibility to fair and just system (aparently the justice systems sideline girls and are not friendly to girl victims or survivors of sexual violence and gender based violence. GENET provides legal clinic for survivors of violence against girls and gender based violence and legal represenation for poor girls who can not afford one.
